Okay, here is my blog post about the addi knitting machine:
So, I’ve been seeing these addi knitting machines all over the internet and I got super curious. Knitting by hand is cool and all, but it takes forever, right? I thought maybe, just maybe, this machine could speed things up. I did some digging and found out they have authorized dealers. I thought, “Why not just go for it?”
I went ahead and got myself one from a dealer they listed, which made me feel a bit more secure about the whole thing, knowing it’s all legit. I got the Kingsize version because, well, go big or go home, am I right? It was pretty easy to set up. You just clamp it to a table, nothing too complicated.
Getting Started with the Machine
- Setting Up: Clamped it to my table, no problem. It came with everything needed.
- Threading the Yarn: This was a bit tricky at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing. You just follow the path, and it’s pretty straightforward.
- First Project: I decided to start simple, like a scarf or something. I wanted to see how it handles basic stuff.
I started cranking, and wow, this thing is fast! It’s a hand-crank machine, so you’re still involved, but it’s way faster than hand knitting. It can do both flat panels and tubes, which is cool. I started with a flat panel for my scarf and it was knitting up in no time.
The machine was just eating up the yarn and spitting out fabric like nobody’s business. It felt almost instant, especially compared to hand knitting. But not everything went perfectly. I messed up the tension a few times, and the stitches got wonky. But hey, that’s part of learning, right? I just unraveled it and started again. No big deal.
After a bit of practice, I got the hang of it. I made a few scarves, and they turned out pretty good! I even tried making a tube for a hat, and it worked like a charm. This machine is a game-changer for sure. I can make beanies, scarves, even blankets if I wanted to sew the panels together. That’s the plan for future projects, by the way.
So yeah, that’s my experience with the addi knitting machine so far. It’s a solid machine, easy to use once you get past the initial learning curve, and definitely a time-saver. Now I can make all my knitting projects much faster. I will say it was a bit tough at the beginning with the tension and all, but I think I have the hang of it.
