Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Addi King Size Circular Knitting Machine, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. I’m not gonna lie, I had zero clue what I was doing at first.
First off, I had to figure out which Addi machine to get. Turns out, there are two kinds, the Addi Express Professional and the Addi Express King Size. I went with the king size because, well, go big or go home, right? It’s got this big, wide dial, so you can make some pretty decent-sized stuff without spending your whole life cranking away.
Getting Started
I started by just trying to get the yarn to catch. It took a few tries, and let me tell you, I felt like a complete idiot. I watched like a thousand videos online. But hey, practice makes perfect, I guess. I just kept at it, cranking that handle, and finally, the yarn started to catch.
Making Stuff
- Beanies: I tried making a beanie first. I heard it was a good beginner project. I found some instructions for a “Bon-Fire Beanie” and thought, “Why not?” It turned out pretty okay, a little wonky in places, but hey, it’s a beanie!
- Flowers: Then I got a little adventurous and tried making some flowers. I figured they’d be easy, and honestly, they were. I was cranking those out like a pro in no time. They were actually pretty cute, if I do say so myself.
- Other Stuff: It seems like there are many things to do with this thing. I saw you can even make some carpets. I even thought about trying to make some clothes, but I’m not that confident yet.
My Overall Experience
It’s been fun, really. This Addi King, it’s like a whole new world of crafting opened up. I can make things way faster than I ever could by hand. I’m still learning, still making mistakes, but I’m getting better.
My Advice
If you’re thinking about getting one of these machines, I’d say go for it. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but it’s worth it. Just be patient with yourself and don’t be afraid to mess up. There is a good community of Addi users online, and everyone is happy to share tips and tricks. Happy crafting, friends!
