But here’s the thing, just because somethin’ is old don’t mean it’s worth a lot of money. Some folks think they got gold just ‘cause it’s dusty, but that ain’t always true. These machines, they need all sorts of little parts and books to tell you how to use ’em. If them parts are missin’, well, then it ain’t worth much, I tell ya. Or maybe there’s some young student lookin’ for a used machine. That’s what they told me, anyways. And if that don’t work, there’s always somethin’ called “Freecycle,” whatever that is. Sounds like givin’ stuff away for free to me.
So, if you’re lookin’ for an antique sock knitting machine for sale, you gotta do your homework. Don’t just jump at the first shiny thing you see. Make sure it’s got all the parts, and don’t pay too much. And for goodness sake, learn how to use it before you break it! These things ain’t as easy as they look, I tell ya.
And remember, a sock is a sock, whether it’s made by hand, by an old machine, or by somethin’ new. It’s supposed to keep your feet warm, and that’s all that matters. But if you got a hankerin’ for one of these old machines, well, I guess there’s no stoppin’ ya. Just be smart about it, that’s all I’m sayin’.
