Well, lemme tell ya, I seen a thing the other day, a knitting sweater machine. You believe that? Back in my day, we just used our two hands and them needles, click-clack, click-clack, all day long. But this thing, it’s somethin’ else. This here knitting sweater machine, it’s s’posed to make sweaters real fast. I heard it even makes tubes, like for sleeves or hats, I don’t know. This one girl, she said it was called, uh, “Addi Express”. Sounds like a train to me, but what do I know?
Now, I seen all kinds of newfangled things in my time. But this knitting sweater machine, it got me thinkin’. Is it worth it? Is it gonna do a good job, or is it gonna be all loosey-goosey like some of them store-bought sweaters? My old hands ain’t what they used to be, I’ll tell ya that. Maybe this machine could be a help. This Addi Express, that one, it seems popular. And there is also this Addi King Size knitting sweater machine. King size! Must be big, right?
I heard some folks say this knitting sweater machine, it’s good for beginnin’ folks. Beginners, they call ’em. Well, I been knittin’ since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, but maybe I could learn a thing or two. This one, it’s called, uh, “Brother KH-860.” Brother? Like a brother from another mother? These names, I swear. They say it is the best knitting sweater machine for beginners. Goodness!
But then there’s this other one, this Addi King Size, again with that! They say it’s real, uh, “reliable.” Means it won’t break down on ya, I reckon. And “sturdy,” like my old oak tree out back. And it can handle thick yarn, they say. My old fingers, they don’t like that thick yarn no more. Gives me the whatchamacallit, the arthritis. So, this machine, it might be just the ticket.
This woman online, she said she had several knitting sweater machines. Several! Can you imagine? I’ve always knitted sweaters just with my hands and the needles. I can make pretty patterns. I make scarves, too. My grandson, he likes blue. So I make him blue scarves. If you use this knitting sweater machine, you still use yarn, right? This Addi King Size one, they say it is the one if you want all them good things in a machine.
I seen them knitting sweater machines make all sorts of things. Hats, scarves, even them little socks for babies. My granddaughter, she’s expectin’ again. Maybe I could make a little somethin’ somethin’ for the new babe with that machine. But then again, is it the same as makin’ it with your own two hands? I don’t know. Seems like somethin’s missin’ when you don’t do it the old-fashioned way.
- This knitting sweater machine, it’s a curious thing.
- Maybe it’s good for some folks.
- Young folks, maybe, who ain’t got time to sit and knit all day.
- Or folks with the arthritis, like me.
I remember one time, I knitted a sweater for my husband, God rest his soul. Took me near a month, it did. But it was a good sweater, warm and strong. He wore it every winter. Could this knitting sweater machine make a sweater like that? A sweater with love in every stitch? I doubt it. This Addi Express one, it is smaller, I think. It can make tubes. But can it make a whole sweater? I don’t think so.
But I’ll tell ya, I’m thinkin’ about it. This knitting sweater machine, it’s got me curious. I see the prices of those knitting sweater machines, it ain’t cheap. But maybe it is worth it. This here arthritis, it’s a pain. Literally.
They even got different kinds of yarn for them machines. Different colors, different, uh, “weights,” they call it. Like how thick it is, I reckon. I used to get my yarn from Mildred down the road. She had them sheep, remember? Sheared ’em herself, she did. Made the best yarn. Wonder if she’s still around. She’d probably laugh at this knitting sweater machine.
I saw this knitting sweater machine online. They say you can get them on, uh, “Amazon.” I don’t know about this Amazon. But maybe I’ll ask my grandson to help me. He is good with those computer things.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that knitting sweater machine. It’s somethin’ to think about, that’s for sure. Maybe I’ll try it, maybe I won’t. But it’s definitely somethin’ new, somethin’ different. And who knows, maybe this old dog can learn a new trick or two. This Addi King Size one, it seems like a good one. I might just try this one. I can finally make that sweater for my daughter. She always wanted a red one.
