Alright, so I got my hands on this thing called the addi Express King Size Knitting Machine. Let me tell you, I was stoked! I’ve always wanted to try one of those automatic knitting things, and this one looked pretty darn impressive.
First, I unboxed it. Everything was nicely packaged. I took out the main machine, it’s basically a big circle with a handle, and found some yarn that came with it. I got some other tools like a tapestry needle and some row counters, too. They even threw in a manual, which, you know, is always a good thing.
Then, I set the whole thing up on my table. It’s got these clamps that hold it in place. I followed the instructions and mounted the machine, It was a piece of cake, seriously.
Next, I picked out some yarn. I decided to use some chunky yarn because the machine said it works well with bigger projects. I followed the steps to thread the yarn through the needles. It took a few tries, but I figured it out.
- Started cranking the handle.
- The needles started moving.
- The yarn got knitted together.
Honestly, it felt kinda magical. I just kept turning the handle, and this tube of knitted fabric started forming. It was way faster than doing it by hand! This thing has 46 needles, so it can make some pretty wide pieces.
After a while, I decided to stop and see what I had made. I carefully took the fabric off the needles. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. It was a perfectly knitted tube! I measured it, and it was huge!
I also tried making a flat panel, which is another thing this machine can do. You just switch a little lever, and it knits back and forth instead of in a circle. It worked like a charm!

It’s easy to use, it’s fast, and the results are pretty impressive. I can use it to make a lot of beautiful things, it is so convenient!
