Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make a sweater for a while now, and I finally decided to give the Sentro knitting machine a try. I’d seen some people use it online and it looked pretty easy, so I thought, “Why not?”
First things first, I ordered the machine. It arrived in a few days, and I was super excited to get started. I unboxed it and read through the instructions – seemed simple enough. You just thread the yarn through, turn the crank, and it knits for you. Easy peasy, right?
I picked out some soft, chunky yarn in a color I liked. Then, I started threading it through the machine, following the diagrams in the manual. It was a little fiddly, but I got the hang of it after a few tries. Once I had the yarn all set up, I started cranking.
It was actually pretty fun watching the machine knit! The yarn went in, the needles clicked, and a tube of knitted fabric started coming out the bottom. It was like magic! I kept cranking, and the tube got longer and longer.
Making the Panels
- I made two big tubes for the front and back panels of the sweater. I just kept cranking until they were the length I wanted.
- Then, I made two smaller tubes for the sleeves. These were shorter, obviously.
Once I had all four panels, I took them off the machine. This was a bit tricky, but I managed to do it without unraveling everything. Phew!
Next, I had to sew the panels together. I’m not the best at sewing, but I did my best. I used a yarn needle and some matching yarn to stitch the front and back panels together at the shoulders and sides. Then, I sewed on the sleeves.
It wasn’t perfect, but it actually looked like a sweater! I tried it on, and it fit! It was a little wonky in places, but hey, it was my first try. I was pretty proud of myself.
Overall, I’d say using the Sentro knitting machine was a fun experience. It’s definitely a quick way to make a sweater, especially if you’re not a pro at knitting. It does take some practice to get everything just right, but it’s worth it in the end. I’m already planning my next sweater!
