Okay, so, I recently got my hands on this Addi Express Kingsize knitting machine. I’ve always been into making stuff with my hands, you know, the whole DIY vibe. I saw some people online making cool things with these machines, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, I started with the basics, I spent time to read how to use it. This machine can do both flat panels and circular tubes, which is pretty neat. I watched a couple of videos to get the hang of how to cast on and get the yarn going smoothly. It took a few tries to get it right, honestly. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but nothing too crazy.
Once I had the basics down, I decided to start with something simple, like a scarf. I picked out some soft, chunky yarn in a color I liked. I just kept cranking the handle, and the scarf started growing pretty fast. It was actually kind of mesmerizing watching the stitches form.
- First project: a simple scarf. I just cranked it out in a straight line.
- Next up: a beanie. This was a bit trickier because I had to figure out how to decrease stitches to shape the top. I messed up a couple of times, had to unravel it and start over, but eventually, I got it.
- Then I got a little more adventurous. I tried making a twisted headband. This involved knitting a flat panel, then twisting it and sewing the ends together. It turned out pretty cool!
After that, I made an eye glass holder for my friend and it worked out great, I have got a lot of compliments from her.
I’ve also been thinking about making bigger stuff, like a blanket. I saw someone online make a blanket by knitting a bunch of square panels and sewing them together. That seems like a fun project for the future. Also I’m thinking about selling some of the things I make, or maybe donating them to charity, because I enjoy knitting so much I have lots of products now.
Honestly, this knitting machine has been a game-changer for me. I can make things so much faster than I could by hand knitting. It’s been a fun and relaxing hobby, and I’m excited to see what else I can create with it. If you’re into crafting and want to try something new, I’d definitely recommend giving one of these machines a go. It’s a lot of fun!
