Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here thing, this… uh… addi express king knitting machine, yeah, that’s what they call it. I ain’t no fancy knitter, you know, just learned from my ma and her ma before her. But this thing, it’s somethin’ else.
First off, I saw it on that… whatchamacallit… eBay thing. They said it ships fast and free, and lord knows I like free. And they got all sorts of stuff on there, just like that fella on the TV says, “everything but the kitchen sink!” And this here knittin’ machine, well, it was right there amongst all the other doo-dads.
Now, they call it a “circular knitting machine.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it ain’t so hard to use, even for an old gal like me. It’s round, you see, like a big ol’ donut, and it just goes ’round and ’round, knittin’ as it goes. Faster than my old hands, that’s for sure.
This addi thing, they say it’s the best you can get without spendin’ a king’s ransom. I heard tell of them fancy sock machines, but they cost a fortune! This one, it’s more my speed, pricewise. And it does more than just socks, let me tell ya.
You can get different sizes, see. Some are good for hats and sleeves, like if you’re makin’ a sweater for your grandkid. But this king size one, well, it can do bigger things. Bedspreads, even! Though I ain’t tried that yet. Seems like a lot of yarn, you know?
- Hats? Easy peasy.
- Sleeves? No problem.
- Runners for your table? Yep, it can do that too.
- Even blankets, if you’re feelin’ ambitious.
They got these other addi machines too, the addiEi and the addiExpress Professional. But this king size one, it seemed like the best fit for me. More options, they said. And I like options, even if I don’t always use ’em all.
It hooks right onto the table, see? No fussin’ around with it wobblin’ all over the place. Just a few screws and it’s good to go. Then you thread the yarn, turn the handle, and off it goes! It’s like magic, almost. My ma would’ve loved this thing, bless her heart.
Now, they say it makes knittin’ “child’s play.” Well, I ain’t no child, but it sure is easier than knittin’ with them old needles. My fingers used to get so sore, and my eyes ain’t what they used to be neither. This machine, it does all the hard work for ya.
I made a hat for little Timmy down the road, and he just loved it. Said it was the warmest hat he ever had. And it only took me a few hours! With needles, it would’ve taken me a whole day, maybe more, with all the stoppin’ and startin’ I have to do these days.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to make your knittin’ easier, this addi express king knitting machine might just be the ticket. It ain’t cheap, but it ain’t the most expensive thing out there either. And it sure does save you time and trouble. Just remember to read the instructions, ’cause it can be a bit tricky at first. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll be knittin’ up a storm in no time.
